Tormsdale Wind Farm is seeking your opinion on how a potential Community Benefit Fund could be used.
Proposed for land 8.5km south of Halkirk in Caithness, Tormsdale Wind Farm is a renewable development from Arise.
Should the project be approved, a Community Benefit Fund – valued at between £189k-£225k per annum over 30 years (index linked)- would be made available to communities residing within the old Caithness County Council border. This could be used to fund local initiatives or community programmes.
The fund would be managed by a dedicated board set up by the Caithness Chamber of Commerce, composed of local residents with the relevant skills and experience.
Arise is seeking to gather the views of residents and businesses within the communities to identify how they wish the Community Benefit Fund to be used.
The questionnaire below encourages you to share your views and opinions regarding the allocation of the Community Benefit Fund and seeks to gauge interest in shared ownership of the wind farm.
Arise highly values community engagement and invites residents to share what priorities/challenges a potential Community Benefit Fund may be used to help address or support.
